Dealing With Dylexia Sucks! Overcoming Dreaded Dyslexia Struggles.

Support and encouragement for kids struggling with dyslexia.

Every kid just wants to fit in. But for a dyslexic, it can be very difficult. When a child feels different in school their self esteem suffers, they start to question their intelligence and they can become frustrated by the additional education/instruction that they require to succeed. ODDS was created by a 16 year old dyslexic boy to provide encouragement to other kids with dyslexia.

When a child is diagnosed with dyslexia, a parent hears lots of terms tossed around: “learning disability”, “neurological differences”, “reading problems”, “phonemic awareness”, “decoding confusion”, to name a few.

Once you get past the big, scary words you realize that your child’s brain simply requires different learning skills to comprehend the sounds of letters and how those sounds blend together to make words. Will they generally read more slowly than other kids, sure. But will this limit their chances for success in the world, absolutely not! Our site is here to provide a forum where you can talk to other people who understand the struggles you frequently encounter and share similar stories. There is a designated section for both parents and children. Parents can ask other parents questions, obtain valuable insights and find support. Kids can post comments on just about anything pertaining to their dyslexia struggles and triumphs and have other kids cheer them on!  And for both parents and kids we will be offering interviews with adults who are succeeding in their respective fields and are truly O.D.D.S. (Overcame the Dreaded Dyslexia Struggle).

Check out the parent to parent and kid to kid sections…  it’s free!  Please post comments; that is what will make our site successful. We are also encouraging you to sign up for the I Did It – You Can Do It Too interview access. We will send you email alerts when interviews  are coming up so you can submit questions for Charlie to ask and then we’ll let you know when the interview as been posted on line. See the side bar to the right for more information.

Dealing with dyslexia sucks. But it will suck less when you are part of the ODDS community!
